Columbia, SC is my hometown. I love doing weddings here. Charleston may have the prestige and the amazing scenery (and it is amazing), but nothing beats weddings in Columbia, SC for that feeling of home and family. Weddings are  a celebration of family and friends. It can be a very cool thing to document this in a place that you call home. Here are a few of my favorite wedding films from Columbia, SC.

Natalie & Willis got married and had their reception at Williams Brice Stadium in Columbia. If there’s any larger icon of Columbia, I’m just not sure what it is. It’s great to have such a connection to Gamecock athletics and have your wedding at this shrine to Gamecock football. This was a fast paced, super crazy, energetic crowd and once the ceremony was over they got down. It’s a great example of the kind of weddings we love in Columbia; very personal with all kinds of attitude. We also had the privilege of working with Joshua Aaron Photography. So great when we can work with the photographers to make something amazing.

The Millstone at Adam’s Pond is by far my favorite venue in our area. The gorgeous wooded site has so much variety from forested old roads to hanging moss on live oaks, it’s a real treasure to find. It books up quick though so hurry and get in touch! And also let me add that Southern Way catering is one of the premiere caterers in the southeast much less Columbia, SC. You just can’t get much better than the combination of Adam’s pond and Southern Way. Brittney and Shane got married on a very HOT June day at Adam’s Pond but it never really felt like it. They were so excited to marry each other, they barely noticed the heat. This was also my first time working with the man himself, Kevin¬†Roberts of VOW. He gave us so much good material just in his delivery, we were set for content. Just another example of weddings that are full of that sense of family and friends. Also got to meet and work with Kelly LaBruyere for the first time. Check out Kelly L Photography.

Courtney and Reg are another one of those couples that stick with you over time. We’ve gotten to work with a few of their friends in the last year and it has been awesome seeing them at weddings. This day was pretty special not only because we got to work at another one of our favorite venues, 701 Whaley, but because they assembled a team of vendors to work together that ends up just being a great group of friends working together to make a wedding perfect. At this one, we got to work with Palmetto Duo (one of our favorite Columbia, SC photographers) and Southern Way again. Aimee Wicker with Southern Way is always so fun to see at a wedding because she’s always so happy and on top of things. The whole team made it such a joy.

It makes such a difference when your wedding vendors all know each other, are familiar with the town, and really care about how to make your wedding great. We love weddings in Columbia, SC because this is home.
