Thank you for finding the good in 2020

January 5, 2021

People say that your wedding day is supposed to be one of the happiest days of your lives. Most of our 2020 couples had to make hard decisions and overcome great obstacles just to get to their wedding day. And you know what? We still think those couples would agree that their wedding day – including the masks, social distancing, and safety protocols – was one of the happiest days of their lives. We know those weddings didn’t happen as our couples had envisioned them. But we know that when they look back on their day, they’ll see how much love and support surrounded them in what seems like an otherwise bad year.

Our 2020 takeaways

2020 proved to all of us how resilient we all are. Our team is full of strong, capable individuals ready to do everything we can to capture all the best moments. And this year gave us the opportunity to think proactively to solve problems before they ever became problems. We even found ways to include more of the couples’ friends and families in their weddings. Becoming stronger in our capabilities and finding new skills we can master is one of the greatest takeaways for our 2020.

Another great takeaway is all of the friends and contacts we’ve made within our industry this year. We have worked with some amazing vendors who are growing and doing amazing things, just like we are. From getting creative with outdoor décor to make large, open spaces feel like small intimate ceremonies to getting all the last minute details just right to chasing the fading sunset for that perfect final photo, we’ve enjoyed working with such amazing industry professionals!

2020 wasn’t all that bad

You know, a lot of people are ready to throw away 2020 and start fresh – pretending that 2020 never happened. Well, we’re seeing things a little differently. We witnessed a lot of love and commitment in 2020. And we saw a lot of resiliency in ourselves, our industry, and our couples. There’s a lot to be learned from 2020. And we’re ready to keep moving forward with the lessons we learned.

Thank you!

With all that said, we would like to send out a resounding THANK YOU to all of our couples and to all of the vendors we worked with in 2020. Last year may not have gone exactly as planned, but we’re learning and growing from it. And we know our couples are stronger for having survived it. So thank you all for the wild ride and here’s to 2021!
