What I love so much about our little town is that it engenders a kind of underdog spirit. We end up with a group of strange thinkers, people that don’t follow the trends, don’t do what they’re supposed to and thrive. That’s what Pecha Kucha night is all about. It’s a celebration of all of those that are pushing against the status quo. This was the second video I’ve done for Pecha Kucha at SoCo and I can tell you both times were awesome. It’s so easy to think of Columbia as this sleepy little town where there’s not much happening. Well, this is happening. Not only are the speakers dynamic and give you interesting and challenging ideas, the people who come to watch the speakers are often the best and the brightest among us. Pecha Kucha 7 was scheduled for last fall right around the time of the great flood, so this year it’s coming back bigger and stronger. 8 new speakers with 8 new topics, a new venue (The City Market, 705B Gervais St, Behind The Twister Spur in the Vista) in a new year.
Registration is open, so sign up! It’s where things are happening.
